Brooklyn band Teen Girl Scientist Monthly are a solid example of why I spent my late teens dreaming of uprooting my life just to move to New York to be able to be a part of the music scene there. They've released a terribly fun rocker in "Summer Skin" that is all things good about NY garage rock. It's a power pop/rock gem geared from the windows down/volume up drives of Summer. They just released their debut album, Modern Dances, which you can get now on their bandcamp. Can't wait to someday make it to New York. Until then, I'll be waiting for them to tour somewhere around me.
